STECK's new Self Piercing Rivet (SPR) Combo Kit Tools (STC21960-COMBO) - Include both the Extraction Tool and Insertion Tool.
The tools are made from a high-grade hardened ASTM 20G grade steel that forms a 1/2" thick steel frame and has a #8 hex bolt with hardened tip.
Self-Piercing Rivets are easily pushed out and inserted with your 3/4” or 19mm socket using your 1/2” impact wrench.
No need for expensive hydraulic tools to remove and insert self-piercing rivets.
Your new STECK Self Piercing Rivet (SPR) Combo Kit Includes (STC21960-COMBO):
Self-Piercing Rivet (SPR) Extraction Tool - STC21970
Self-Piercing Rivet (SPR) Insertion Tool - STC21960
How it works:
The Self Piercing Rivet SPR Combo Kit simplifies automotive rivet removal and repair and eliminates the very expensive hydraulic tools normally used to do the same job.
Simple steps for using your new STECK - Self Piercing Rivet (SPR) Combo Kit
Removing Self Piercing Rivets:
1) Follow the automotive manufacturers procedure to remove the trim panel and expose the rivets that need to be removed.
2) Insert the hardened tip of your Self Piercing Rivet (SPR) Extraction Tool hex bolt to the inside of the door. Hand tighten the bolt to the center of the backside of the rivet. Keep the body of the tool against the door flange.
3) Use an impact wrench with a 3/4” or 19mm socket to gradually tighten your Self Piercing Rivet (SPR) Extraction Tool hex bolt and push out the old rivet.
4) The impact wrench tightening process should only take 3-5 seconds before the rivet is pushed out.
Installing Self Piercing Rivets:
1) Place a new rivet on end of the magnetized tip of your Self Piercing Rivet (SPR) Insertion Tool hex bolt.
2) Align the rivet where it is to be inserted and gradually finger tighten the Self Piercing Rivet (SPR) Insertion Tool until the rivet is held firmly against the metal.
3) Use an impact wrench with a 3/4” or 19mm socket to gradually tighten your Self Piercing Rivet (SPR) Insertion Tool hex bolt until it pushes the new rivet into the metal and compresses the new rivet completing the installation.
