Introducing the Steck 4th Wheel Loader, an indispensable tool that revolutionizes the way tow truck drivers, mechanics, and body technicians handle vehicles with various issues such as broken ball joints, lost wheels, locked wheels or brakes, collision damage, and control arm failures. This innovative equipment ensures safe loading and secure transportation of damaged vehicles on roll back wreckers and into repair shops.
The 4th Wheel Loader features a robust 24” x 14” hardened aluminum fabricated platform equipped with two 4” x 10” Polypropylene roller wheels. It also includes six 5/8” holes for mini-J hooks, providing essential loading assistance. The platform boasts 1” axles, providing a stable and secure base capable of holding up to 5 tons while loading a vehicle with broken ball joints and/or a damaged wheel/tire on a rollback. For instances of wheel failures like locked brakes or broken wheels, the damaged vehicle can be lifted, and the wheel can be placed in the large 10” x 10” recessed pocket of the 4th Wheel Loader. The wheel assembly can then be securely chained using our Load Binder, fastening it to the locking slots on the Loader platform.
Each 4th Wheel Loader package includes a 6’ x 3/16” chain, a hand-adjustable screw-type Load Binder, and a 3/8” extension nut. These components facilitate easy connection to the chain and Loader base unit by hand or wrench, allowing secure loading on the rollback or guiding the damaged vehicle into the repair shop. The Loader, standing at 4” high (without shim blocks), features a built-in 6” X 1 ¼” handle for convenient storage behind your seat or toolbox, weighing only 25 lbs.
The 4th Wheel Loader also includes one 10” x 10” x 3” and one 10” x 10” x 1 1/2” Polypropylene interlocking shim blocks, fitting into the recessed Loader pocket. These shims enable the driver to raise the damaged vehicle, accommodating situations with busted ball joints, lost wheels, and severely bent axles. By inserting the desired shim(s) in the pocket, the driver can lift the vehicle and place the rotor, solid axle, or control arm at the desired level on the shim block(s) within the 4th Wheel Loader pocket. The parts also feature a 3” slot cut out, allowing the lower control arm to securely nestle on the shim.
Additionally, replacement parts are available to maintain the functionality of the 4th Wheel Loader, including the Load Binder, shims, black roller, axle, chain, and more. Invest in the Steck 4th Wheel Loader, the ultimate solution for handling damaged vehicles effectively and securely, ensuring a streamlined towing and repair process.
